Like many wonderful compositions, this garden was a collaborative affair. Kaprielian brought in landscape architect Haig Seferian (of Seferian Design Group) to design the hardscaping, which included stone and pea gravel squares and a low wall near the pergola. He also did initial plant placement drawings. Kaprielian designed the decking, planters, a garden shed and two fountains: one, fabricated of aluminum and slate, is close to the house, masking the city and traffic sounds; the other forms a dramatic watery screen at one end of the pergola.
