In front of the garage is a formal parterre of boxwood with a circle of gravel around a handsome urn mounted on a plinth. At first, Dinnick thought the fact that they have to traverse the entire garden to get from the garage to the house might be a drawback. But it has turned out to be a ?detoxing? process. The couple never just walks straight through, they slow down, fiddle with the pond and sometimes sit on the bench (a rare event for any gardener) and appreciate the various views.
