Toronto gardener Barry Parker shows how his mini landscapes survive old man winter Barry Parker groups pots and troughs, especially those with small trees such as false cypresses, spruces and junipers (which are prone to windburn), on a patch of pea gravel. The pots stay warmer on the ground than being raised up, and the gravel provides good drainage.
