I do the same thing .. act before thinking .. raw instinct for our plants and garden. I'm grateful for the snow too. Hopefully it may help with some drought issues as well ? Not a quick fix but something. Kingston has been on water restrictions since we moved here from Holland 1999 .. so this is long term. I hope you don't mind my having a link to your blog from my own.
