Spring is here and so am I

It seems an impossible length of time since I’ve been on this blog. Somehow I managed to be in Paris and came back to winter; and then we went to California and came back to winter. So now Spring is arriving in such a stealthy manner it has made us all anxious.

During these periods I made the decision  not to go on any more tours. I love to travel so if I’m going anywhere it will be with my beloved husband. My days of touring groups of people are over.  Unless, of course, I change my mind.

I will be on CBC’S  Fresh Air   with Mary Ito Sunday April 13, 2014  between 7:30 and 8 a.m.

I’ll post notes about pruning tomorrow a.m.  We had a very lively discussion.

I have a piece in Zoomer magazine about my favourite gardens.

just listened to your interview with mary ito. i really enjoyed it and thanks for all of the tips!

the reason i haven’t included my last name is, well, i do this for as living and it was good to pick up a few pointers. never too late to learn something new as i gear up for the spring/summer season ahead.

again, many thanks.

john p.,

Thank you, thank you, Marjorie, for your comments on when to prune Japanese maples…. Also, loved your comments about not leaving ‘stubs’. I always tell my clients that they can tell if the person they have hired really knows anything about pruning by simply looking to see if they have left any ‘stubs’. I have very seldom found that the previous people did a good job.
I love to read your e-newsletter and your blog.
Keep up the good work!
Susan Wheeler
