I have a metal pole (with a baffle) topped by two crossbars forming 4 arms from which to hang a variety of feeders -- including a suet feeder for the downy woodpecker. The squirrels get the spillage, but as long as I have the pole placed far enough away from any launch sites (trees, trellis, etc.) onlt the most acrobatic make it onto the pole itself.
